Update Anywhere
There are a number of ways to communicate with your Yammer Network, allowing you to adapt Yammer into your particular workflow. In addition to the yammer.com website, you can interact with your network via a Desktop Application, iPhone, BlackBerry, IM, SMS, and even email:
Desktop application
Download the robust Yammer Desktop application and use it to:
- See messages appear in a continuous feed.
- Post new messages and reply to messages.
- Receive notification of new messages, even when the Yammer Desktop application is minimized or in the background.
iPhone Application
Use the Yammer iPhone application to Yammer on the go. You can view your Feeds, post and reply to messages, and use the Member Directory as a mobile address book for your Network.
BlackBerry application
Use the Yammer BlackBerry application to Yammer on the go. You can view your feeds, post and reply to messages.
Update via IM
Add your IM screennames in your account settings to send and receive messages with your IM client.
Here are some commands you can use from your IM client:
- 'ON' Turn IM notifications on
- 'OFF' Turn IM notifications off
- 'RE:' Reply to user’s last message
- 'to:groupname' Post to Group

Update via SMS
Add your mobile number to use Yammer from your phone (using SMS). You can schedule when you want to receive updates via SMS.
Here are some commands you can use by sending an SMS to 30201:
- 'ON' Turn SMS notifications on
- 'OFF' Turn SMS notifications off
- 'RE:' Reply to user’s last message
- 'to:groupname' Post to Group
To set up email updates, go to your Settings page (on the top right of the screen) and select 'Email'. Then subscribe to the feeds that you wish to receive by email.
Our recommendation is to subscribe at least to 'Received', so that you don’t miss anything addressed to you specifically.
